中文摘要: 目前运动想象脑机接口(BCI)的研究主要集中于利用运动想象发生后(after–motor imagery)的EEG信号,然而受试者运动想象意识发生和BCI系统响应之间的等待时间降低了系统的实时性。预备电位(RP)能够预测运动想象行为的发生,有望解决以上BCI的时滞问题。借鉴生物系统的决策机理,结合大脑的高级认知过程,本项目探索利用RP驱动BCI系统的新方法,主要研究内容包括设计运动想象LRP产生的实验范式,采集脑电数据,提取LRP,分析LRP的决策神经机理。本项目的成功执行将有利于推动运动想象BCI系统的深入发展,也为进一步研究神经、行为和计算的统一决策理论开拓了新的思路。

英文摘要: Usually, in brain-computer interface (BCI) applications, the focus of study is on the after-motor imagery potentials. The waiting time between this after-motor imagination and the BCI response decrease the real-time performance of the BCI system. Using the pre-motor imagery potentials such as the readiness potential (RP), we can predict the onset of the upcoming movement that is engaged in the performance. Therefore, it is possible to solve the time delay problem of the BCI systems based on the pre-motor imagery potentials. Based on the decision-making mechanism of biological systems, we links EEG signal with high-level cognitive activities together. Aiming at exploring a new BCI method using RP, the main research contents of this project is to design the motor imagery LRP experimental paradigm to collect the EEG data and extract LRP signal and then examine corresponding underlying cognitive meanings.The successful execution of this project will not only help to promote the further development of motor imagery BCI systems, but also develop new idea to construct a unified decision-making framework from neural, behavior and computation aspects.
