Inferior colliculus (IC) is a critical center for the binaural processing of auditory information, but the binaural processing mechanism and the underlying synaptic mechanisms remain not well understood, especially in awake animals. Basing on our previous and recent experiment research and literature research of these mechanisms, we presume that the Ispilateral gain control plays a very important role in IC's binaural auditory processing. After years of exploration, our group have mastered cell-attached loose-patch recirdings and in vivo whole-cell recordings method for awake mouse.Basing on our experiment technology, we are going to deeply study IC's binaural auditory processing mechanisms with spike level and EPSP level on awake mouse. As a result we may reveal systematically the Ipsilateral gain control mechanisms of binaural auditory processing in inferior colliculus of awake mouse, as well as who they present in different neurons.Obviously, our results will contribute new theoretical to understand the mechanism of IC's processing for auditory information.
