Metamaterials are a type of artificial microstructures with unique physical properties that may not be found in nature and have wide applications in the areas of optical information processing, telecommunication, imaging, sensor and etc. In the research of metamaterials, metals have traditionally been the metamaterial of choice due to their ability to support collective oscillations of free electrons,i.e. surface plasmon polaritons. However, for most metals, their plasma frequencies are in the ultraviolet region, which results in large negative values of real permittivity in the visible and infared region. In addition, even the metals with the highest conductivities such as silver and gold suffer from large losses in the visible and infared region. These drawbacks of metals limit the feasibility of many plasmonic applications. People expect to find alternative plasmonic materials with tunable plasma frequencies and low losses in order to promote the development of metamaterial research and relative nanophotonic devices. In this subject, we will study the plasmonic metamaterials based on heavily doped metallic oxides. Heavily doped metal oxides are a type of wide band gap semiconductor materials with metal-like optical properties in the visible and infrared region. Because they possess tunable plasma frequencies,
