中文摘要: 多铁性材料是当前凝聚态物理和材料学的热点研究领域,尤其是在室温下同时具有铁电性和铁磁性的材料是人们追逐的焦点。本项目针对磁性与铁电性的难兼容性,我们提出在含Pb2+的过渡金属复杂氧化物体系中寻找新型多铁材料并研究其结构与多铁性的关系。本项目的研究一方面是对Pb3Mn7O15进行掺杂,以期使之表现出铁电性;通过多样化的合成手段寻找其同构化合物,研究其结构性质;另一方面是利用Pb2+与碱土金属在化学性质方面的相似性,通过离子交换寻找新型含铅过渡金属氧化物;同时开展含Pb2+的多元相图体系的研究工作,寻找新的化合物甚至新的结构类型,并期望得到室温下的多铁性材料。本项目完成后,将形成关于含Pb2+过渡金属氧化物的合成以及多铁性产生机理的基础理论和技术成果,并为复合功能信息器件的开发研究提供重要的材料体系。

英文摘要: Multiferroic materials attract much attention from the field of solid state physics and material chemistry. However, the bad compatibility between ferro-electricity and magnetism makes multiferroic materials rather rare, which is the key challenge in this research field. Thus searching for new multiferroic materials, especially those with strong magnetoelectric coupling, high magnetic ordering temperature and large electronic polarization, is of great interest. Known that the 6s2 lone pair electrons and magnetic frustration play an important role in combining ferro-electricity and magnetism, we propose a possible multiferroic material system with both effects, the transition metal oxide system containing Pb2+ ion. We plan to synthesize new Pb2+ containg multiferroic materials and study the relation between the crystal structure. In the project, we plan to conduct the following research. (1) The chemical doping of Pb3Mn7O15 by other metal ion. We will study the influence of chemical doping on the crystal structure and ferroelectricity. We will also search for isostructural compounds by different kinds of synthesis techniques and study the structure-property relation.
