中文摘要: 当前,基于时分复用无源光网络技术无法满足未来接入带宽和总容量需求。作为一个新的复用维度,基于模分复用的光通信技术是提高未来接入带宽和网络规模的重要手段之一,已成为国内外研究的热点。光纤中模式耦合串扰问题和模式复用/解复用技术是模分复用无源光网络系统中的关键科学问题。本项目首先提出并研制一种具有低模式耦合串扰的新型的M-型少模光纤,深入研究其模式耦合串扰物理机理,然后展开基于M-型少模光纤熔融拉锥型模式复用/解复用器件理论和技术的研究,最后结合低模式耦合串扰新型M-型少模光纤和模式复用/解复用器件的完善设计,搭建模分和时分二维复用无源光网络的光纤通信系统实验平台,分析关键功能器件的性能,深入研究模分和时分二维复用无源光网络的性能,为下一代超大容量多维复用无源光网络的发展与应用提供理论和技术支持。

英文摘要: Currently, passive optical network (PON) technology based on time-division-multiplexing (TDM) cannot satisfy the demand of access bandwidth and overall capacity in the future. Mode-division-multiplexing (MDM) technology is one of important technologies to realize ultra-large access bandwidth and overall capacity in the field of optical access network, whose research has important scientific significance and application value. The key of new optical fiber mode multiplexing mechanism is utilized is to solve the few-mode optical fiber’s cross talk problem and mode multiplexer/demultiplexer. Firstly, this project will propose and develop the new few-mode optical fiber with special refractive index profile-M type and low mode-coupling crosstalk, further study its physical mechanism, mode-coupling crosstalk characteristic. Then, low mode-coupling crosstalk mode multiplexer/demultiplexer based on M-type few-mode fiber fused tapering will be investigated theoretically and experimentally. Finally, combined with perfect designs of low mode-coupling crosstalk new M-type optical fiber and mode multiplexer/demultiplexer, this project will construct an optical fiber communication system experiment platform based on mode-division-multiplexing and time-division-multiplexing passive optical network (MDM-TDM-PON), analyze the performance of the key functional devices, further study the performance of MDM-TDM-PON. These researches provide theoretical and technical support for next generation ultra-large-capacity multi-dimension multiplexing passive optical network.
