中文摘要: 随着信息技术的发展,无线局域网技术的应用范围与应用场景都大大超出了最初设计者的预期,无线局域网环境下的密集接入问题成为了至于无线局域网技术应用与发展的瓶颈之一。通信业界与国际标准组织正在积极研究超密集无线局域网新技术与协议标准,以满足高速率以及广覆盖的需求。其中,由于目前不能在频域和时域提供高效的密集接入方案,直接导致低吞吐量以及严重延迟,本项目针对其中无线局域网密集接入的效率优化展开研究。. 本项目计划分别从频域和时域上研究高效频谱调整与信道接入的物理层设计,并在此基础上研究支持该设计的轻量化MAC层协议,从而设计一套高效频谱分配与信道接入方案,优化密集接入时的效率问题。我们将通过对真实密集无线局域网中的流量特性分析,以确定密集接入低效的根本成因,设计高效频谱与信道接入优化设计方案,并搭建系统与测试平台,利用实际节点进行实验验证。

英文摘要: To meet the intense demands for higher data rates and ubiquitous network coverage, the telecommunication industry and international standardization bodies have placed considerable attention to the deployment of hyper dense Wireless Local Area Network (WLANs). However, both empirical experiences and theoretical analyses suggest that current MAC protocols is extremely poor in terms of low throughput and severe delay. The fundamental problem is that they fail to provide efficient access in both frequency and time domains...To address the aforementioned problem, we will try to identify the root causes for the inefficiency issue in dense WLANs, and exploit potential features to improve the performance. To this end, we will first investigate the traffic patterns in real-world dense WLANs. Based on this traffic investigation, we proceed to study efficient access techniques in both frequency and time domains. Specifically, we will first investigate the basic designs for low-cost spectrum adaptation and high efficient channel access. Then, we will propose a lightweight MAC protocol that supports these designs in dense WLANs. Finally, we will implement the proposed designed in software-defined radio test beds and conduct experiments in real-world environments.
