中文摘要: 在地球和行星的早期演化进程中,硅酸盐熔体起着至关重要的作用,对其性质的研究是地球深部物质研究的前沿问题之一。本项目拟制备高分辨率的固溶体Al2O3-Cr2O3,建立其在高压下的状态方程, 并对其进行压缩率、热膨胀及其衍生性质、氧化物组元混合特性与压力、温度和成分的关系的研究。以密度连续变化的Al2O3-Cr2O3固溶体替代天然矿物作为密度参考球,利用“沉-浮”法,测量不同含水量的橄榄岩熔体在高压下的密度。深刻认识硅酸盐熔体在地幔中的分布情况以及进一步理解岩浆在早期地球演化的角色等问题。

英文摘要: The chemical evolution of the Earth and the terrestrial planet is largely controlled by the density of silicate melts. Knowledge of properties of melts at high pressure is of primary importance for understanding differentiation and dynamics in the Earth’s interior. In this project, we will synthesis the Al2O3-Cr2O3 solid solutions with the continuous variation of their oxide components to elevate the resolution of the density in the ‘sink-float’ method. At the same time, its thermodynamic state equation will be established under high pressure and high temperature in this project. We will replace the mineral markers with the Al2O3-Cr2O3 solid solutions and measure the density of silicate melts at the condition of Earth’s upper and lower mantles. In order to further understanding of the distribution and the stability of silicate melts in the Earth, the fundamental questions about the role of hydrous magmas in planetary differentiation will be answered.
