中文摘要: 多核处理器正逐步成为嵌入式实时领域硬件平台的主流,其提供的强大处理能力使设计者可以在同一块处理器芯片上部署多个不同的应用,这些应用通常具有不同的关键性。为实现在多核处理器上搭建满足不同关键性需求的高效、可靠系统,设计者们通常采用虚拟化技术来对不同子系统的功能进行严格的隔离。现有的实时嵌入式系统设计与分析技术,还无法有效地指导设计者在多核平台上采用虚拟化结构框架构建可靠的该类系统。随着多核处理器变得越来越强大,工业界对高效可靠的虚拟化多核实时系统设计方法的需求越来越迫切。 本项目将针对上述问题和需求展开相关理论和关键技术研究,包括基于实时演算的多核系统分层实时调度分析、面向混合关键性系统的虚拟化系统设计与分析、多核虚拟化系统中实时中断响应策略的设计与分析以及面向虚拟化系统的多核处理器共享资源管理等技术。项目还将实现一个原型系统,对提出的新机制与策略以及相应的分析方法进行评估。

英文摘要: Multi-core processors are becoming mainstream in the field of embedded real-time systems. The great computation capacity provided by multi-core processors enables us to deploy multiple different applications on the same processor chip. These applications may be with different criticality to the overall system functionality and performance. In order to satisfy different requirements of different applications build robust yet efficient systems, virtualization techniques are required to enforce strong functional isolation among subsystems. Existing techniques are not adequate to guide system designers to build timing-predictable embedded systems on multi-core processors under the virtualization system framework. As multi-core processors are becoming more and more powerful, the demand form industrial of efficient and robust system design methodology is rapidly increasing. In this project, we proposed to study new principles and technologies to solve this important yet challenging problem. More specifically, we will study analysis techniques for hierarchical scheduling on multi-core systems, design and analysis techniques for mixed-criticality real-time systems on virtualization platforms, design and analysis techniques of real-time interrupt management on virtualization platforms and design and analysis techniques of multi-core shared resource management on virtualization platforms. Prototypes will be implemented to evaluate both the new mechanisms and policies in virtualization implementation and the new analysis techniques to guarantee their timing correctness.
