中文摘要: 光子晶体结构被证明能有效提高LED器件的发光效应,具有巨大的应用潜力,但作为一门交叉学科,光子晶体LED在理论与实验上还有很多没有解决的科学问题。本项目重点研究光子晶体结构在LED中的光操控作用。在理论上,针对目前基于发光器件实际辐射特性的研究模型的基本空白,本项目使用更接近LED 实际发光的面光源模型来研究光子晶体LED 中的光操控新特性,重点研究光子晶体的高反射特性在LED 中的应用及相应新型结构的设计。实验上,针对亚微米图形的光子晶体LED的制作困难,本项目研究开发成本低廉,适合在半导体材料上大面积制作亚微米图案的光子晶体掩膜的技术,并实现在半导体材料上的图形转移。在上述理论与实验基础上,设计和制作具有特殊光学特性的内嵌光子晶体LED 结构,研究新型发光器件的光学性能,进一步提高光子晶体LED的发光效率。

英文摘要: Photonic crystal structure have been proved to be an effective way to improve the light properties of light emitting diodes (LEDs),but as an interdiscipline of science, in spit of its great applicable potential, photonic crystal LEDs have to overcome many scientific obstacles. The research of this project mainly focus on the light manipulation in photonic crystal LEDs. In theory, based on the actual radiation of real emitting device, we develop the planar source model to study the novel light manipulation phenomenons in photonic crystal LEDs, especially the highly reflective merit of photonic crystals and its related application in LEDs. Experimentally, as to address the obstacle of fabricating submicron-patterns photonic crystal LEDs, we develop low cost, mass-production technique used in the fabrication of submicron photonic crystal patterns in semiconductor materials. In addition, we design and fabricate photonic-crystals-embedded LEDs structure with novel light properties. We the proposed model and experiment results to further study the light properties of photonic crystal LEDs.
