爱大是英语世界第六古老的高等学府，其在QS排名世界第20位，US News 榜单中排名世界28位。1582年建校至今已培养出许多影响世界的科学家，如达尔文，麦克斯韦，贝叶斯，“上帝粒子”提出者希格斯。

爱丁堡大学信息学院排名是世界领先的计算机科研机构 (CS_Ranking 英国第一)，其以人工智能，计算机体系架构，系统网络，移动计算，机器人等领域的开创性成就而知名，至今已培养出三名图领奖获得者(其中包括深度学习奠基人Geoffrey Hinton).

导师英文简介：

Dr. Lu is an assistant professor in the School of Informatics at the University of Edinburgh. He leads the Mobile Autonomy, Perception and Sensing (MAPS) lab, a team pushing the embodied intelligence into a variety of mobile systems, ranging from the safety-critical autonomous vehicles to the emerging AR/VR wearables. The research goal of MAPS is to drastically improve autonomy, robustness and security for various mobile agents. The lab regularly collaborate with other top labs at Oxford University and Cambridge University.

Prior to Edinburgh, Dr. Lu received his Ph.D degree from the University of Oxford and a M.Eng degree from Nanyang Technological University. He is a receipt of the Google-DeepMind PhD Scholarship and selected as one of the Heidelberg Laureate Forum Young Researchers. His research work has constantly appeared in leading venues of applied AI (e.g., CVPR/WWW/AAAI/ICRA) and IoT systems (e.g., MobiCom/MobiSys/SenSys/Ubicomp).

英国爱丁堡大学信息学院Dr. (Chris) Xiaoxuan Lu 招收移动机器 (Mobile Robotics) 以及人工智能物联网 (AIoT) 的全奖博士, 2021年春季或秋季入学。优先考虑具备visual SLAM, UAV navigation, multi-sensor perception或edge computing相关经验的申请者。
