The 11th International Workshop on Wireless Sensor, Robot and UAV Networks is organized in conjunction with IEEE INFOCOM 2018 – IEEE Conference on Computer Communications as a half-day workshop, which will be held in Honolulu, HI, USA, on April 16th, 2018. Extended versions of selected papers will be considered for publication in the IEEE Transactions on Control of Network systems.
Wireless Sensor, Robot and UAV networks are the confluence point where the traditional fields of wireless communications, robotics and control theory meet. In this kind of networks, nodes collaborate to accomplish distributed sensing and actuation tasks. Leveraged by the control and mobility of actors, the networking process and applications embrace a whole new set of possibilities. Autonomous cooperative systems, made of intelligent devices (such as robots and UAVs), may deploy, repair and relocate sensors to improve coverage, build routes and fix network partition to ensure data communication, change network topology to shape routing patterns and balance energy consumption, and respond to reported events in a timely and effective manner. The benefits are limited only by imagination. As an emerging field, the 5G architecture foresees explicitly the usage of these specialized systems and offer new networking techniques, by which they can fully exploit their particularities and potentials. WiSARN aims at bringing together state-of-the-art contributions on the design, specification and implementation of architectures, algorithms and protocols for current and future applications of such systems.

NETYS aims to bring together researchers and engineers from both the theory and practice of distributed and networked systems. The scope of the conference covers all aspects related to the design and the development of these systems, including, but not restricted to, multi-core architectures, concurrent and distributed algorithms, parallel/concurrent/distributed programming, distributed databases, big data applications and systems, cloud systems, networks, security, formal verification, etc. NETYS will provide a forum to report on best practices and novel algorithms, results and techniques on networked systems. Original contributions as well as case study papers on the principles, design, implementation, modeling, analysis, verification, and application of networked systems are solicited. Specific concepts common to different forms of such systems are most welcome.

The ACM SIGCOMM 2018 conference seeks papers describing significant research contributions to the field of data communication networks and networked systems. SIGCOMM’18 takes a broad view of networking research. This includes new ideas relating to (but not limited to) mobile, wide-area, data-center, home, and enterprise networks using a variety of link technologies (wired, wireless, visual, and acoustic), as well as social networks and network architecture. It encompasses all aspects of networks and networked systems, including packet-processing hardware and software, virtualization, mobility, sensors, provisioning and resource management, performance, energy consumption, topology, robustness and security, measurement, diagnosis, verification, privacy, economics and evolution, interactions with applications, internet-of-things, novel applications of machine learning to networking, and usability of underlying networking technologies.
We want SIGCOMM’18 to be daring and emphasize novelty and creativity. The more novel the concept, the harder it can be to fully develop or evaluate all aspects, and the review process will take this into account. We encourage authors to discuss not only the benefits but also the limitations of their ideas.
Unlike in previous years, SIGCOMM’18 will not have a separate experience track. However, we do encourage the submission of experience papers that provide detailed technical insight into real-world deployments of novel networking technologies and systems.
In addition to the main conference, SIGCOMM 2018 will have a series of co-located workshops, tutorials, poster and demo sessions, a travel grant program, and conference best paper and SIGCOMM awards.

ILRN’s annual conference provides an intensive face-to-face opportunity for the emerging immersive learning professional community to collaborate and create the future of immersive learning and planting seeds of innovation locally in the education, technology, and entertainment sectors. ILRN conferences offer knowledge exchange and collaborative opportunities in scientific presentation streams, poster sessions and panels complemented with hands-on demonstrations and immersive local conference experiences. The iLRN Conference is, itself, designed to be an immersive learning environment making great use of the physical location and stocking it with immersive learning experiences across the Augmented and Virtual Reality spectrum. We seek members of the iLRNetwork, itself, to propose Workshops and Special Tracks throughout covering emerging topics and trends relevant to the community.
Continuing the previous success of iLRN events, this international conference series spans the topic range from innovative research, technologies and tools to successful services and products of immersive environments to foster learning, training and other activities in motivational and engaging ways. The objective is to uncover and discuss emerging trends and technologies, sound research and best practices, successful products and services within an international and interdisciplinary community.

Ad hoc Networks
Special Issue on Recent advances on security and privacy in Intelligent Transportation Systems
The rapid evolution of communications technologies together with the variety and potential availability of network access mediums and service providers have led to the emergence of the Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITSs). There is a large variety of ITS networks spanning from mobile ground networks, e.g. Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks (VANETs) to aerial ground networks, e.g. Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) networks. VANET is a kind of ITS networks where a vehicle is a connected car equipped with various communications technologies such as: Dedicated Short Range Communications (DSRC) and cellular networks (3G/4G). The purpose of VANET is to ensure a wide area coverage for all vehicles in scaling the network, thus achieving the always best connected paradigm where the best connectivity is offered to clients wherever they are and at any time. UAV is another kind of aerial ITS networks, which are used in military applications for target monitoring and engaging air to ground combats. It is also used in civil applications to explore inaccessible areas and deliver data to and from areas with no network infrastructure.
There are many unprecedented challenges to realize ITS network; security and privacy is one of them since, on one hand, vehicles exchange sensitive data (e.g., accidents notification, coordinates of nuclear sites, etc.) and on the other hand they form a specific network with particular characteristics (frequent fragmentation and dynamic topology). This special issue covers studies and solutions that ensure ITS security and privacy. We encourage authors from the industry and academe to submit their original research works that will enhance our understanding and modeling of security, privacy, and attacks.
Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
- Intrusion detection and response systems in ITS network.
