This research will implement study-recognition paradigm to identify the neural mechanism of conceptual priming and familiarity. Based on pictures, Chinese characters, and words as basic materials, the researcher manufacture three different types of visual stimulants: stimulants with different meaning levels which depend on participants' evaluation, rearranged stimulants with different basic materials, and'lure words 'which are generated by DRM paradigm. By using multiple experimental designs and technologies, including behavioral experiment, ERP experimental technique, and ERP+fMRI technique, this research will systematically investigate following issues: 1) the neural mechanism for conceptual priming and for familiarity, and how conceptual priming influences familiarity in recognition memory; 2) the effect of portion conception(shape) rearranged on neural mechanism of familiarity; and 3) how false familiarity which emerges in conceptual priming impacts re-recognition judgment. Except investigating the neural mechanism of conceptual priming and familiarity, this research will also develop their overlaps in brain regions and interactions based on the experimental result. From this new perspective of how conceptual priming contributes to familiarity under different situations, and the neural relations between them
