中文摘要: 具有亚波长空气孔阵列的多层金属薄膜渔网结构在光波段具有良好的电磁响应特性,是实现可见光/红外波段低损耗人工电磁超材料负折射率的首选结构。当前渔网超材料的研究对象主要是基于平面加工工艺的准三维多层结构,在传播方向具有平移不变性,难以产生光学手性和三维负折射率。本项目以光波段三维渔网结构为研究对象,引入结构及极化矢量的本征及非本征不对称性,利用多光子激光直写加工技术,制备三维手性渔网结构;结合理论分析和电磁场数值仿真手段,研究不同几何构形及对称破缺度的渔网结构的光学响应,分析线/圆偏暗振光在渔网结构中的反射、透射及偏振矢量旋转特性,实现三维的光学手性超材料;研究对称破缺引起的手性光学模式的物理起源及相应的宽带负折射率响应特征;阐明金属局域表面等离子体共振与手性渔网结构中磁响应的关联,建立光波段手性光学超材料的有效介质理论,为光波段三维手性体材料研究及光子学器件应用提供理论及实验基础。

英文摘要: The fishnet stucture, stacked multilayer metallic film patterned with two-dimensional (2D) arrays of subwavelength air holes, is the most popolar metamaterial design at optical frequencies. The objects of previouse study on fishnet metamaterials are mainly focus on the quasi-three-dimensional structures, which are translational invariant along z-direction, due to the planar fabrication technology. This project will study the optical properties of three-dimensional (3D) fishnet metamaterials with broken symmetry. We will fabricate 3D fishnet metamaterials with multi-photon direct laser writing method, study the reflection, transmission and polarization rotation of line (and circular) polarized light in 3D fishnet structures with different geometric configurations and broken symmetries, and create 3D chiral metamaterials in optical frequencies. We will study the physical origin of the chiral resonant modes and the broad band negative index, investigate the correlation between local surface plasmon resonance and the magnetic response of fishnet metamaterials, construct the effective medium theory of chiral metamaterials at optical wavelengths. Our results will provide the theoretical and experimental foundations for future 3D chiral metamaterials and device applicatoins of 3D complex optical metamaterials.
