中文摘要: 现有互联网面临严重的路由可扩展问题,其根源在于IP地址的双重属性:IP地址既代表终端的身份,又代表终端的位置。近年来,业界普遍认为身份与位置分离是解决上述问题的可行方案之一。本项目研究基于身份与位置分离路由系统的关键技术。拟开展的主要研究内容包括:研究身份标识到位置标识的映射机制,使其同时满足安全、可扩展、低解析时延、高效支持扁平身份标识等需求;研究基于身份与位置分离的路由系统中的移动性管理机制,使得未来互联网更好地支持移动性;研究映射条目在主机或者主机的接入路由器上的缓存时间,以有效利用网络资源;探索身份标识的可达性等。上述研究内容有的刚刚开始得到研究,有的研究内容则是本项目第一次提出。项目组相信:对上述内容的研究,必将产生高水平的研究成果,进而大大提高我国在信息技术领域的国际地位,并提高我国的自主创新能力。

英文摘要: The current Internet faces serious scalability issues which are mainly caused by the overloading of Internet Protocol (IP) addresses in semantics. That is, an IP address represents not only the identity of an end host, but also the location of the end host in the network topology. In recent years, it is widely recognized that identifier/locator separation is a promising and feasible solution to address the scaling issues. This project aims at researching the key technologies of a routing architecture in which identifiers are separated from locators, focusing on the following four main aspects: 1) the design of an identifier-to-locator mapping approach that makes the mapping system scalable, secure, having low map-resolution delay, and be capable of supporting flat identifiers; 2) the mobility management schemes, so that a future Internet is able to support host mobility better than the Internet today; 3) how to determine the cache timeout of an identifier-to-locator mapping item cached at an end host or an ingress tunnel router, in order to achieve make the best use of network resources; 4) whether or not it is necessary to make (part of) identifiers unreachable in order to make the Internet more secure.
