中文摘要: 标准模型的电弱对称性的自发破缺机制赋予费米子和玻色子质量,并且预言Higgs粒子的存在,Higgs粒子是唯一尚未被实验发现的粒子。许多由标准模型扩展的理论模型(如最小超对称模型(MSSM))也都预言了Higgs粒子的存在。Higgs粒子的直接测量是当前高能粒子物理最重要的课题,也是强子对撞机LHC物理最主要的研究目标。随着LHC和ATLAS的高效运行,大统计量数据和良好的数据质量将为Higgs粒子的寻找提供良好的条件。本项目中,我们将应用和发展新的分析方法和工具,利用ATLAS获取的大量数据,研究H->WW过程,通过lvlv和lvqq末态,在整个可能的质量范围,寻找Higgs粒子存在的证据。并结合H->di-photon,H->ZZ等结果,进行combination研究,以提高Higgs寻找的敏感度。

英文摘要: Within the Standard Model(SM), the Higgs mechanism is invoked to break the electroweak symmetry, gives masses to all the massive Fermions and Bosons, and gives rise to a physics scalar known as the Higgs boson. Higgs boson is the only particle that has not yet been discovered so far. Many extensions of the SM, such as Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM), also predict the existence of the Higgs boson.The direct search for the Higgs boson is the most important program of the high energy physics, also is a major goal of the physics program at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). With the high efficient operation of the LHC and ATLAS, the large accumulated data samples and the excellent data quality provide an opportunity for the direct Higgs boson search. In this project, we will perform the analysis of the decay H->WW with lvlv and lvqq final states in ATLAS experiment,the Higgs boson is searched in the whole possible mass range. Some advanced techniques, such as BDT, will be applied and developed during the analysis. A combination analysis with H->di-photon, H->ZZ et al. will be performed to improve the sensitivity of the Higgs boson search.
