中文摘要: 超导单光子探测器因其极低的暗计数率, 较高的计数率和很宽的响应波段等优点, 在光量子信息处理和(亚)毫米波段天文学中有着重要的应用前景. 与其它几种超导单光子探测器(SNSPD, STJ及TES)相比, 超导共面波导(CPW)微波谐振器单光子探测器具有制备和读取简单且容易实现大阵列探测等突出优点. 本项目将利用我们自行研制的高品质因数超导CPW谐振器的动态电感在极低温下(约10 mK)对输入能量的灵敏响应, 来实现对通讯波段(1550 nm)单光子的探测. 具体地, 我们将研究低温下各种高品质因数超导CPW谐振器的微波传输特性; 搭建一套低噪声微波信号测量系统, 通过研究微波信号的噪声功率谱来分析系统的主要噪声来源; 通过提高光纤和器件耦合效率, 优化器件参数和测量参数, 探索在通讯波段实现高能量分辨率单光子探测的有效途径.

英文摘要: Due to the extremely low dark count rate, high count rate and broadband response, superconducting single photon detectors have important potential applications in optical quantum information processing and (sub)millimeter astronomy. Compared to other superconducting single photon detectors (SNSPD, STJ and TES), photon detectors based on supercounducting coplanar waveguide (CPW) microwave resonators are easier to be fabricated, read out and multiplexed into large arrays. In this program, with the high quality factor (high-Q) superconducting CPW resonators made by ourselves and its sensitive response of kinetic inductance to the input energy at ultra-low temperature (around 10 mK), we aim to achieve single photon detections at telecommunication wavelength (1550 nm). Specifically, we will study the microwave transmission characteristics of various high-Q superconducting CPW resonators; We will set up a low-noise microwave measurement system and analyze the main sources of noise via measuring the output noise power spectra; By improving the fiber-device coupling efficiency and optimizing relevant device and measurement parameters, single photon detections with high energy resolution at telecommunication wavelength will be explored.
