中文摘要: 南海西北部海域的地形变化剧烈,具有明显的三维特征,使得此海域存在大量的内孤立波。卫星遥感图像显示在此海域即存在着向岸传播的内孤立波也存在着向海传播的内孤立波,但目前对这两种类型内孤立波的生成源地和生成机制仍有争议,尤其是向海传播的内孤立波,生成机理目前未有研究。本项目拟采用实测数据分析和数值模拟相结合的方法研究陆坡的水平弯曲对内孤立波生成演化的影响。首先应用实测数据和卫星遥感数据获取这两种类型内孤立波的特征及其时空分布规律;其次应用三维完全非静力非线性的MITgcm模式,采用实际的潮流、层结及地形,对南海西北部海域向岸传播和向海传播的内孤立波进行模拟,研究潮流、层结、地转等因素对两种类型内孤立波生成演化的影响;最后重点考察陆坡的水平弯曲对这两种内孤立波的作用,通过建立一个理想的潮-地相互作用模型研究陆坡地形的水平弯曲对能量传播方向和强度的影响,并从能量角度分析两种类型内孤立波的生成机理。

英文摘要: Northern South China Sea features sharply varied topography which is essential three-dimensional resulting in ubiquitous internal solitary waves. Satellite images showed that there exist both shoreward and seaward propagating internal solitary waves. However, until recently, the generation position and the generation mechanism of these two kinds of internal solitary waves are still controversial, especially the generation mechanism of the seaward propagating internal solitary waves, whose generation process has no study focused on. After in-situ data analysis and numerical simulation, we wish to study the effect of horizontal curved continental shelf on the generation and evolution of the internal solitary waves. Firstly, through the analysis of the in-situ observations and satellite images, we wish to obtain the characteristics of these two kinds of internal solitary waves and their temporal and spatial distributions. Secondly, by using a three-dimensional fully nonhydrostatic and nonlinear MITgcm model and applying the tidal currents, stratification and topography in the real ocean, the generation and evolution of shoreward and seaward propagating internal solitary waves in the northwestern South China Sea are simulated. And then we wish to study the effects of tidal currents, stratification, rotation etc. on these two kinds of internal solitary waves. Finally, we focus on the effect of horizontal curved continental shelf. By establishing an ideal tide-topography interaction model, we try to find out the effect of horizontal curved continental shelf on the propagation direction and strength of the energy and explain the generation mechanism of these two kinds of internal solitary waves in terms of energy.
