The 22nd IEEE International Conference on Computational Science and Engineering (IEEE CSE 2019) is the next event in a series of highly successful International Conferences on Computational Science and Engineering (CSE). This year’s edition will take place in New York, USA, between 1st and 3rd August, 2019.

As computer systems become increasingly large and complex, data based computing technology plays a critical role at supporting next-generation science and engineering  applications. Nowadays the Cloud-based complex Big Data applications in science and engineering are consist of heterogeneous software/hardware/network components of changing capacities, availability, and in varied contexts. They provide computing services to large pools of users and applications and the effective solutions require appropriate and smart computational algorithms, architectures and platforms.

The CSE conference aims at bringing together researchers and practitioners in the world working on addressing these computing challenges on science and engineering, and providing a forum to present and discuss emerging ideas and trends in this highly challenging research field.

The 14th International Conference on Computer Science & Education (ICCSE 2019) will be held in Toronto, Canada during August 19-21, 2019. ICCSE 2019 is organized by the China National Research Council of Computer Education in Colleges & Universities (CRC-CE), hosted by University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT), and with the technical sponsorship of IEEE Canada (Ontario Section). The proceedings of ICCSE (indexed by EI and ISTP) will be published by IEEE, and be included in the IEEE Xplore digital library.

The conference will consist of technical presentations including refereed papers, special workshops about current emerging topics and active research areas, invited sessions, poster sessions, panel discussions, and a special journal contributor session. In the special journal contributor session, editors of some recommended EI-indexed international journals will interact with potential contributors (conference paper authors) and discuss procedures and tips for journal paper submission.

Smart grid technology is currently entering the electrical market by the deployment of smart meters. Electric vehicles introduce new challenges on the grid capacity but may also support grid stability. Volatile renewable energy challenges grid stability. Wind power electricity produced at shore regions has to be transported to industrial regions by high-capacity power links. Local photovoltaic sources may make residents independent for some time periods. The new power grid becomes smart, when all prosumers can communicate fast, securely, and reliably.

The Eurographics Symposium on Rendering 2019 will take place in Strasbourg, France from July 10th to 12th, 2019. This 30th (anniversary!) event continues the series of highly successful Eurographics Symposia and Workshops on Rendering. New this year, a single submission track is proposed: all accepted research papers will be presented at EGSR 2019 and archived as publications in the Eurographics digital library (exact publication modalities pending). Furthermore, a selection of them will be published in an issue of the Computer Graphics Forum (CGF) journal, based on both the recommendations of the reviewers and the outcome of a second cycle of review.

We are looking for work that shapes the future of rendering in computer graphics and related fields. In particular, we would like to emphasize that the conference is not exclusively about rendering, and encourage submissions in the related topics such as virtual/augmented reality, deep learning, 3D fabrication, and computational photography.

There is no fixed minimum or maximum paper length. However, submissions over 12 pages in length will be treated as exceptional cases, and length must be proportional to contribution.

For each submitted paper, a minimum of 3 reviews will be provided to the authors, who will then be able to enter a rebuttal to clarify misunderstandings and answer the reviewers questions. The reviewers will then discuss and decide on the acceptance of the paper to the EGSR 2019 program. In this case, the authors will submit a revised version of their manuscript prior to the conference.

Containers and virtualization technologies constitute key enabling factors for flexible resource management in modern data centers, and particularly in cloud environments. Cloud providers need to manage complex infrastructures in a seamless fashion to support the highly dynamic and heterogeneous workloads and hosted applications customers deploy. Similarly, HPC environments have been increasingly adopting techniques that enable flexible management of vast computing and networking resources, close to marginal provisioning cost, which is unprecedented in the history of scientific and commercial computing. Various virtualization-containerization technologies contribute to the overall picture in different ways: machine virtualization, with its capability to enable consolidation of multiple under­utilized servers with heterogeneous software and operating systems (OSes), and its capability to live­-migrate a fully operating virtual machine (VM) with a very short downtime, enables novel and dynamic ways to manage physical servers; OS-­level virtualization (i.e., containerization), with its capability to isolate multiple user­-space environments and to allow for their co­existence within the same OS kernel, promises to provide many of the advantages of machine virtualization with high levels of responsiveness and performance; lastly, unikernels provide for many virtualization benefits with a minimized OS/library surface. I/O Virtualization in turn allows physical network interfaces to take traffic from multiple VMs or containers; network virtualization, with its capability to create logical network overlays that are independent of the underlying physical topology is furthermore enabling virtualization of HPC infrastructures.

The Mathematical Foundations of Computer Science conference series has been organized since 1972. Traditionally, the conference moved between the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Poland, although for the last few years, the conference has travelled more widely around Europe (Austria, Hungary, Italy, Denmark and the United Kingdom).
MFCS 2018 was held in Liverpool, United Kingdom.
This year the conference is visiting Germany for the first time.
MFCS is a high-quality venue for original research in all branches of theoretical computer science. The broad scope of the conference encourages interations between researchers who might not meet at more specialized venues.
MFCS 2019 will consist of invited lectures and contributed talks, selected by an international program committee of researchers focusing on diverse areas of theoretical computer science.

During the last few years, there has been increasing interest in the application of Virtual Reality and Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs), in the field of rehabilitation, with clinical results that prove their effectiveness.

The virtual reality is being an increasingly used method in physical rehabilitation, allowing individualized treatments, as to facilitate learning motivation, to finally, provides patients pleasant and enjoyable homework exercises. This is can be done, for example, by applying the use of Nintendo Wii Balance Board, a low-cost visual biofeedback systems, and the implementation of programs for improving the patients balance.
