We present a novel iterative method for solving Volterra integral equations of the second kind. Based on global Lagrange interpolation, the method is simple to implement and applicable to a wide variety of problems. Here, we present the method in detail and discuss several applications, emphasizing in particular its use on the time-dependent Schr\"odinger equation.
