中文摘要: 光载超宽带(UWB-over-fiber)技术是构建未来宽带化、泛在化、融合化无线数据通信网络的重要基石。在UWB-over-fiber系统迈向实用化的过程中,迫切需要一种低成本、低脉冲时间抖动的光域超宽带(UWB)信号发生器。然而,现有的光生UWB信号技术在成本及信号质量方面仍无法满足实用化的要求。本项目利用光电振荡器固有的低噪声特性,将主动锁模机制引入光电振荡环路,提出了一种可产生超低时间抖动光域UWB信号的新型结构。该结构还可实现光域UWB信号在不同频段的灵活切换以及多信道数据加载。该结构为一种自启动的UWB信号发生装置,无需昂贵的高速码型发生器或锁模激光器作为辅助,可大大的降低系统成本。本项目所提出的方案有望促进UWB-over-fiber技术向实用化方向发展,并为UWB-over-fiber技术与认知超宽带无线电技术的融合提供一种新的思路。

英文摘要: Ultra-wideband (UWB)-over-fiber technique is a cornerstone of the future wireless data communication network which is wideband and goes everywhere. For the practical application of the UWB-over-fiber system, a low-cost, low time jittering photonic UWB signal generator is highly desired. However, the present photonic UWB signal generation technique is relatively expensive and its signal quality can not meet the application requirement. By taking advantage of the low-noise characteristic of optoelectronic oscillator (OEO), this project induces the mode-locking mechanism into OEO and proposes a novel structure for photonic generation of UWB signal with ultra-low time jitter. In this structure, flexible frequency band switching of UWB signal and data loading of multiple signal channels can also be achieved. Furthermore, as a self-starting oscillator, this structure neither needs a pulse pattern generator nor a mode-locked laser, making a significant lost reduction. The proposal of this project would greatly promote the performance of the UWB-over-fiber system, would make the practical application of UWB-over-fiber system possible and would open a new prospect for the combination of the UWB-over-fiber technique and the Cognitive UWB technique.
