Ancient buildings, which belongs to the exhaustive resources and has extremely high social and economic value, make an important part in the national historical and cultural heritages. However, during years of conservation, existing ancient buildings have currently suffered various degrees of damage even ruin due to artificial and natural destructions. In the traditional perservation methods, the emergency restoration scheme is widely used, i.e., restoration after damage. This method relies on the expertise experience too much which may lead to the loss of information in the cultural relics. It is contrary to the policy of protection prevailing, rescuing first, rational utilization and strenghtening management. Based on the large ancient timber buildings and using the Information fusion method, this project will construct the failure prediction and health management method. In this project, we will mainly focus on the following problems: ① Establishing the system for extracting the basic information of the object and optimizing the layout of the sensors, which include the scheme of monitoring, testing items and information acquisition under the background of multidisciplinary integration, and the feature extraction algorithm of certain or uncertain information; ② The fault prediction and health management, i.e.,
