中文摘要: 同时具有铁磁性和铁电性的物质被称为磁电多铁性材料。利用多铁性材料中的磁电耦合效应可以实现用电场来控制磁性质以及用磁场来改变电学性质。同时,许多强关联电子体系由于电荷,自旋,轨道,晶格等微观自由度的交叉耦合,也表现出丰富的磁电耦合效应。这类材料是具有很高的应用价值的功能材料,例如基于磁电耦合效应可以构建新型信息存储器件、传感器、换能器等。同时,磁电耦合还带来许多新的物理效应和物理概念,如量子电磁铁,磁电激子,电控交换偏置等。本项目计划研制一套多功能磁电耦合效应测量系统,达到国际先进水平,实现在较宽温度区间、磁场范围、电场范围、频域范围内对多种静态和动态磁电耦合效应进行精确的测量和表征。该测量系统不仅可以应用于凝聚态物理基础研究,也可以用于对磁电功能材料和应用器件的开发研究。

英文摘要: Multiferroic materials provide great opportunities for the mutual control of magnetism by electric fields or electric properties by magnetic fields. Strongly correlated electron systems exhibit a variety of magnetoelectric coupling effects due to the cross correlation among charge, spin, orbital, and lattice. These materials have great potential for applications in information storage, transducers, sensors. Meanwhile, the magnetoeletric coupling may generate new physical effects and concepts. In this project, we plan to build up an advanced multifuntinal measuring system for studying magnetoeletric effects, which are able to measure precisely various static and dynamic magnetoeletric effects in a wide range of temperature, magnetic field, eletric field, and frequency. This equipment can be used for the fundemental physics study and devices development as well.
