中文摘要: 材料辐照损伤是制约核聚变能发展的关键问题。材料的纳米化有望是改善材料抗辐照性能的途径。最近Sciece杂志发表的计算机模拟研究提出了一个新的解释纳米材料抗辐照损伤的机理,即:辐照下从晶界向晶内投射间隙原子的现象。这一研究引起了材料辐照学界的很大反响。然而,由于样品的不均匀性等原因,从实验上证实或证伪这一假设,非常困难。本申请书提出了一个新的辐照试验设想,从而有可能利用离子加速器和透射电子显微镜,比较精确地分析晶界对辐照缺陷的影响,进而有希望证明或证伪这一晶界向晶内投射间隙原子的假想。作为本课题的前期工作,已经进行了部分实验,证明了本申请书的辐照试验设想的可行性。

英文摘要: Irradiation damage in materials is a key issue in developing fusion energy. The nano-materials may be a resolution to improve the resistance to irradiation of materials. Recently, a paper published in the Science magazine reported a new mechanism of irradiation damage in nano-materials after computer simulation. By the mechanism, interstitial atoms would be emittted from grain boundaries to the bulk. This paper got a big response in the field of irradiation damage. However, it is not a easy work to demonstrate the new mechanism by experiments because of a small difference between irradiated sample and un-irradiated sample. This application suggested a unique experimental method, so that it may be possible to investigate clearly the effect of grain boundary on irradiation process, and to testify or to falsify the mechanism above. The prior work by our group has shown the possibility of this application.
