中文摘要: 将机会网络编码应用于无线自组织网络对于克服链路不稳定,提高网络性能具有重要意义。但由于无线自组织网络中业务流的随机性、MAC调度方式、端到端速率控制机制等因素的影响,机会网络编码在有速率控制的无线自组织网络中性能优化比较困难。本项目基于对机会网络编码方式、资源调度机制和业务流特性的随机分析,基于网络效用优化,从两方面提升机会网络编码在实际无线自组织网络中的性能: 1)提出时间自适应机会网络编码,编码节点基于业务流数据到达模型和本地动态调度模型,根据期望吞吐量最大化准则选择最优编码等待时间;2)提出考虑网络编码的动态TCP速率控制机制,平滑TCP发送速率,消除TCP突发特性的影响,增加网络编码机会,同时适应动态业务流特性。本项目针对机会网络编码在无线自组织网络中应用的问题,从本地编码和端到端速率控制两个层面提出有效的综合解决方案,增加网络编码机会,充分利用机会网络编码的优点提高网络性能。

英文摘要: Application of opportunistic network coding in wireless ad hoc networks is very useful to overcome channel instability and improve the network performance. However, optimization of opportunistic network coding in wireless networks with rate control is nontrivial due to the impact from flow dynamics, resource scheduling, and end-to-end rate control. Based on stochastic analysis on opportunistic network coding, resource scheduling, flow dynamics, and network utility optimization, this project improve the performance of opportunistic network coding in two aspects: 1) A time-adaptive opportunistic network coding scheme is proposed. According to the flow model and local scheduling model, the coding node selects the optimal waiting time with the throughput-maximization metric. 2) A network coding-aware rate control mechanism in TCP is proposed, which eliminates the influence of TCP burst property, increases coding opportunities, and adapt to the flow dynamics as well. To apply opportunistic network coding in wireless networks, this project proposes a unified solution from two aspects, i.e., local network coding and end-to-end rate control. This unified solution increases network coding opportunities, and fully utilize the advantages of network coding to improve the network performance.
