中文摘要: 太赫兹波是介于毫米波与红外光之间的尚未被完全开发利用的频段,基于太赫兹波的通信技术将是下一代通信技术的重点发展方向。太赫兹调制器作为太赫兹波通信系统的关键部件,具有重要的研究意义和巨大的应用价值。本项目研究基于有机光电材料的太赫兹光调制器,利用有机光电薄膜与无机材料相复合形成异质结构,在外置光控制下实现调制太赫兹波强度的目的。首先,选用多种有机光电材料及衬底材料,通过蒸镀或旋涂等方法研制功能器件,实现高调制深度、高调制效率的宽谱太赫兹光调制器,并基于太赫兹时域光谱系统及连续波系统测试,结合光电导理论,研究有机太赫兹光调制器的工作机理;然后,通过搭建太赫兹速率测试系统,测定并提高有机太赫兹光调制器的调制速率;最后,基于有机太赫兹光调制器搭建太赫兹无线通信系统,完成文字、图像及声音等信息的传输实验。

英文摘要: Terahertz wave is a frequency band between the millimeter wave and infrared light,which has not been fully developed.The terahertz communications technology will be an important developing direction of the next generation communications technology. As a key component of a terahertz communication system, terahertz modulator is great importance both in research and in its applications. In this project characteristics of terahertz modulation by organic optoelectronic materials deposited on inorganic substrate will be investigated. The THz pulse/continuous wave transmissions should be efficiently modulated by an external laser. Firstly, high modulation depth, high modulation efficiency and wide spectrum terahertz optical modulators fabricated by deposition or spin-coating are investigated by studying a variety of different organic optoelectronic materials and substrate materials. The mechanism of optical terahertz modulation in an organic/inorganic semiconductor would be studied based on the photoconductive theory and the pulsed and continue terahertz experiments. Secondly, modulation rate of the modulator is measured by building a terahertz rate test system to raise the rate limitation. Finally, based on the optical modulator a terahertz wireless communication setup will be built for demonstrating the communication of text, image, and sound etc.
