Porous metal complexes have recognition and storage properties and potential application in small molecule activation/conversion and catalysis due to the presence of specific channel/cavity structures. In this project, we will construct porous metal complexes via the coordination of multidentate organic ligands with metal ions and study their recognition, conversion and catalytic properties: (1) to design and synthesize multidentate organic ligands with coordination groups such as imidazol, carboxylate, oxazoline etc. and specific functional groups, to construct porous metal complexes by reactions with transition metal/rare earth metal salts with definite coordination number and geometry; (2) to investigate the structures of the complexes, the structure regulation approach and develop the construction method for porous metal complexes with specific sized and shaped channel/cavity; (3) to study the recognition, activation/conversion and catalytic properties of the complexes as well as the relation between the channel/cavity structure and property. This study is important for design and synthesis of novel porous metal complexes, develop new catalysis and catalytic reactions, and also important for application of porous metal complexes.
