中文摘要: 软件定义网络(Software Defined Network,SDN)提出以软件定义的方式来管理和控制网络流量,但是现在的网络交换设备很难满足SDN模式对数据层面存储、计算等资源的需求。现有研究所提出的静态资源提供方式也很难符合网络交换设备对资源需求的动态性。本项目首先提出了SDN虚拟转发平面的概念,利用虚拟化技术,向网络交换设备提供有弹性的存储和计算资源。该平面利用搭载在通用计算机平台上的虚拟SDN交换机组成虚拟化网络,将物理SDN设备无法处理的流量分流到虚拟交换机上进行处理。作为一种全新的SDN网络工作模式,SDN虚拟转发平面引入了一系列新的问题,如服务器部署、虚拟交换机映射、流量调度等等。本项目将对这些问题进行进一步的研究。

英文摘要: Software Defined Networking (SDN) proposes managing and controlling network traffic in a software defined manner. However, current network switches are hardly to meet the requirements of SDN on memory and computation. Existing researches have proposed providing resource in a static manner; however, this does not fit the variation of requirements. In this project, SDN Virtual Forwarding Plane (VFP) is proposed, which provides network devices with elastic resources. SDN VFP builds a virtual network, which is of the same topology as the physical network, with virtual SDN switches on general computers. The traffic whose forwarding requirements cannot be satisfied by the physical network is offloaded to VFP. As a novel data plane model of SDN, SDN VPF introduces a number of new problems, e.g., the server placement problem, the virtual switch mapping problem and the traffic dispatch problem. There problems will further study these issues.
