中文摘要: 图像视频通信系统通常由有线传输网络和无线接入网络组成。有线网络通常是由服务器、路由器和光纤组成,可靠性较高;而无线接入则可靠性较低,通常是系统性能的瓶颈。传统无线传输方法基于香农信源信道独立原理,信源压缩与无线传输独立设计。对于普通数据而言,理论上等价于联合信源信道方法。然而,图像视频数据与普通数据不同,它具有视觉失真可容忍的特点。传统方法无法充分利用此特点,导致传输效率较低。本课题从联合信源信道的角度,研究如何利用视觉失真可容忍特性,设计无线图像视频传输方法,从而实现高效的传输。另外,云环境中具有丰富的群体性信息,为进一步提高传输效率提供可能性。通过本课题的研究,将解决联合信源信道无线图像视频传输中尚未解决的三个问题。第一,如何实现多用户视频内容异构的软自适应传输;第二,如何实现低延迟软自适应视频传输;第三,如何实现天线异构系统的软自适应视频传输。

英文摘要: Today’s video communication system is composed of core networks and wireless access network. The core networks is more reliable than wireless network, hence the wireless access network becomes the bottleneck of the system performance. Conventional wireless transmission is based on Shannon’s source and channel coding separation principle. The source compression and channel protection is independently designed which can be capacity achieving for general data, e.g text data. However, image or video is quite different from text data which is inherently robust to visual distortion. Conventional transmission based on independent design cannot utilize this advantage and result in lower efficiency. In this research, we will try to design completely new image/video transmission scheme to achieve high efficiency by utilizing this feature. Moreover, we have observed that there are lots of side information in the cloud which can be also utilized to improve the system efficiency. Three key issues in joint source and channel coding based video transmission system will be tackled through this research. First, how to achieve soft adaptation in multi-user transmission with heterogeneous video content. Second, how to achieve soft adaptation with low delay. Second, how to achieve soft adaptation in heterogeneous MIMO system.
