中文摘要: 与同构架构相比,异构架构中集成的计算单元数量更多、类型更丰富,计算任务能够被更加合理地分配到适合的计算设备上,获得更好的性能或性能功耗比。然而,现有的异构多核体系结构还不能很好地支持能效优化,如没有为能效优化提供必要的软硬件支持、一些关键模块或机制对能效优化的影响还不清楚,等等。为此,本项目将深入、系统地研究异构多核体系结构的能效优化关键技术,包括:异构多核体系结构的能效模型、异构多核结构中CPU与GPU的协同能效优化、面向能效优化的异构平台任务分配策略、异构体系结构中的数据通信机制及其对能效优化的影响。本项目的研究成果既能够直接用于实现高效能的单个计算节点,也可以用于指导未来高效能异构多核体系结构设计。

英文摘要: Compared to homogeneous architecture, heterogeneous architecture has some advantages on implement high energy efficient system, because compute devices integrated in to heterogeneous architecture are more diverse and tasks could be mapped to suitable devices more reasonablly. However, current heterogeneous multi-core architecture failed to support energy efficient optimization as expected. For example, it does not provide necessary software or hardware support for energy efficient optimization, and the effect of some key modules or mechanisms on energy efficiency is still not clear. Therefore, this project focuses the research on key optimization techniques for efficiency optimization on heterogeneous multi-core architecture, including: energy efficiency model for heterogeneous architecture, co-optimizations of CPU and GPU in heterogeneous architecture for energy-efficiency, energy-efficient task mapping strategies for heterogeneous platform, data communication mechanisms on heterogeneous architecture and its effect on energy efficiency optimization. The results of this project could be used to both implement high energy efficient single computation node, and direct the design of next generation heterogeneous multi-core architectures.
