The Journal of the American Pharmacists Association (JAPhA)is pleased to announce a call for papers related to the changing landscape of cannabis. The use of medical cannabis and cannabis-based medicines has received increasing interest in recent years. Also, as state legislation evolves, pharmacists are frequently asked questions ranging from the effects of CBD oil to the benefits of marijuana. JAPhA wants to help prepare the pharmacy community to address this rapidly-evolving area by welcoming articles in an upcoming themed issue to inform our readers on this timely topic. Examples of topics of interest include the benefits and risks of marijuana, policy analyses, and pharmacists’ role as related to medical cannabis use.
Authors are invited to submit manuscripts in the categories of Research, Research Notes, Advances in Pharmacy Practice, Systemic Reviews, Commentary, or Letters. Accepted papers will appear in a themed issue of JAPhA.

Pharmacists’ coordination and management of patients living with mental illness in a variety of patient care settings
Legal changes that have expanded scope of practice, such as allowing the administration of long-acting injectable antipsychotics
Screening and referral processes for patients living with mental health issues

Special Issue on : Aswagandha (Withania sominifera) - A Rasayana from Ayurveda
Ashwagandha (Withania sominifera) has achieved a global reputation over the last decade and growing. It is evident by the fact that besides Ayurveda Pharmacopoeia of India and Indian Pharmacopoeia several other Pharmacopeias of the world has also included a monograph on Ashwagandha root and its extract. Ashwagandha has a huge potential with wider pharmacological profile and health benefits. It has a spectrum of potential application due to its historical, pharmacological, health promotion, research orientation and global business potential.
The idea of this special issue originated during National Symposium on "Ashwagandha" organized by the Society for Ethnopharmacology, India (http://www.ethnopharmacology.in) during September 9-10, 2017 at Jadavpur University, Kolkata. This symposium focused on several contemporary issues on the drug discovery & development, quality evaluation, validation and safety related aspects of Ashwagandha. This special issue on JEP will be useful for promotion of Aswagandha which will be useful for the society at large with the contribution from scientist all over the globe. It will provide a forum for the researchers to exchange ideas, learn about developments and acknowledgment initiatives that hold promise for evidence based research regarding health and well being.
