Play a leading part in revolutionizing how people use their computers and mobile devices. The Siri team is looking for an extraordinary DevOps Engineer to work on new architectures and technologies, build and maintain one of the world’s largest-scale networking and application environments. This role is high impact and essential to creating the highest quality user experience that Apple customers expect and love.

Key Qualifications

• 5+ years of DevOps Engineer experience

• Solid understanding of system architecture and large-scale * Internet service system operations

• Linux OS and services administration

• Understanding of scripting and programming languages, including Bash, Python, Golang, Java

• Skills with DevOps tools and methodologies, CI/CD, Jenkins, Docker, Puppet or Chef, etc.

• Knowledge of large data storage and processing using HDFS, Yarn, Spark and streaming message queues

• Experience in system networking with software load balancers

• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and diagnose systems, services and networks using a variety of tools such as tcpdump, source code debugging, log collection and processing, metrics collections and health monitoring

• Strong focus on OS and service security hardening

• Self-motivated and proactive, with demonstrated creative and critical thinking capabilities

• Good communication with internal and external teams, in Chinese (Mandarin) and English

Description

This DevOps Engineer will do the following tasks, through collaboration with team members in China and around the world.

• Maintain global production and R&D systems

• Analyze the requirements and demands of services in the local environment and customize the system configuration to fit it

• Follow the iteration of global operations methodologies and adapt novel deployment to absorb new technologies and designs that have been proven in world-wide practices

• Design and deploy automation tools to enhance the operations of a large-scale infrastructure, including monitoring-logging-alerting-response loops

• Customize and deploy benchmarking tools to verify that the system is running with production-level quality, identical to the other regions and areas in the world

• Maintain the production environment with good performance and reliability, discover potential faults and fix

Location: Beijing or Shanghai

Education & Experience

Bachelor or Masters degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent

Additional Requirements

It will be helpful if you has also the following qualification:

• Knowledge and experience in MapReduce, encryption and key management

• Experience in performance measurement and visualization (e.g. Graphite, Grafana)
