EWSN 2018
Internatioanl Conference on Embedded Wireless Systems and Networks
The International Conference on Embedded Wireless Systems and Networks (EWSN) is a highly selective single-track international conference focusing on premier research results at the intersection of embedded systems and wireless networking - an area of highest relevance for visionary technologies such as the Internet of Things and Cyber-Physical Systems as well as applications such as Industry 4.0, Smart Production, Smart Cities, and Connected Cars.
The featured topic of the 2018 edition of EWSN is sustainable Embedded Wireless Systems, with contributions that aim to contain the energy cost and the carbon footprint of embedded wireless systems. This builds on top of the successful EWSN 2016 and EWSN 2017 editions featuring the topic of ependability. Sustainable embedded wireless systems will operate on top of reliable, safe, and secure systems studied in past editions. Topics such as energy-efficient wireless networking technologies and architectures, backscatter communication, adaptation of embedded systems supplied by variable renewable energy sources, wireless power transfer as well as application of embedded wireless systems to increase the energy efficiency of smart homes, smart buildings, and smart cities are welcome. Topics not related to sustainable Embedded Wireless Systems are equally welcome as long as they fall into the scope of the conference, as described below.
The conference solicits both full technical papers, and short papers describing validated early ideas. Proceedings will appear in the ACM digital library. A subset of the papers appearing at the conference will be selected to be fast-tracked to ACM Transactions on Sensor Networks.

The International Conference on Information Processing in Sensor Networks (IPSN) is a leading annual forum on research in networked sensing and control, broadly defined. IPSN brings together researchers from academia, industry, and government to present and discuss recent advances in both theoretical and experimental research. Its scope includes signal and image processing, information and coding theory, databases and information management, distributed algorithms, networks and protocols, wireless communications, collaborative objects and the Internet of Things, machine learning, mobile and social sensing, and embedded systems design. Of special interest are contributions at the confluence of multiple of these areas.
New: In addition to IPSN's traditional focus areas, IPSN 2018 will also include two tracks: - Internet of Things (IoT) - Data and Machine Learning
The IoT track will focus on issues related to IoT. Submission should refer to specific IoT related issues in the topic areas listed below, including but not limited to, hardware, software, system design, new architectures, modeling, evaluation, design methods, implementations, tools, or deployment experiences.
The DML Track will focus on data and machine learning related issues in IPSN topic areas. Submission should refer to specific data and machine learning issues related in the topic areas listed below. Topics can include but are not limited to, new system design to enable machine learning (e.g. hardware, software, algorithm, and architectures, etc.), novel machine learning algorithms for data related to IPSN topic areas (e.g. modeling, signal processing, interpretation, efficiency, evaluation, etc.), and data issues in IPSN topic area (e.g. structure, management, database, methods, tools, analysis, etc.). Other topics in the topic areas listed below but does not specifically address IoT or DML topics should be submitted to the general track.

The Institute of Scientific and Technological Information (IDICT), the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment of the Republic of Cuba (CITMA), is pleased to invite you to participate in the XV International Congress of Information, Info 2018, which will be held March 5 to 9, 2018 at the International Conference Center of Havana, Cuba. This event will be held within the framework of II Convention on Science, Technology and Innovation, sponsored and organized event by the CITMA.
The central slogan of Info 2018 will be information and Knowledge: challenges for the Sustainable development, which has been articulated in seven thematic axes that will focus the work of the different modes that are part of the Congress.
Topics: - Institutions and Information Professionals: strategies, programs, products and services, supporting the implementation of the UN Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development and the achievement of its objectives. - Information Literacy as an instrument for the promotion of lifelong learning. - Information and Knowledge Management, Technology Surveillance and Business Intelligence. - Open Science: the challenges for the development of a global infrastructure for storing, curing, sharing, reusing and evaluating research results. - Quantitative and qualitative studies for the evaluation of science and technology: methods, tools and standards for responsible use of metrics with the greatest social impact. - Semantic Web, linked data and technologies for the massive treatment of information: its importance in the generation and sharing of knowledge. - Information, Environment and Development: Global and local knowledge to address climate change and the sustainable use of water resources and ecosystems.
