ARK 2018, the 16th International Symposium on Advances in Robot Kinematics is organized by the Group of Robotics, Automation and Biomechanics (GRAB) at the Department of Industrial Engineering of the University of Bologna, Italy.

ARK are international symposia of the highest level organized every two years since 1988. They provide a forum for researchers working in robot kinematics and stimulate new directions of research by forging links between robot kinematics and other areas.  

The main topics of the symposium are:
-Kinematic analysis of robots
-Robot modeling and simulation
-Kinematic design of robots
-Kinematics in robot control  
-Theories and methods in kinematics  
-Singularity analysis
-Kinematic problems in parallel robots, redundant robots, cable robots, overconstrained linkages

LION 2018

Learning and Intelligent Optimization

The large variety of heuristic algorithms for hard optimization problems raises numerous interesting and challenging issues. Practitioners are confronted with the burden of selecting the most appropriate method, in many cases through an expensive algorithm configuration and parameter tuning process, and subject to a steep learning curve. Scientists seek theoretical insights and demand a sound experimental methodology for evaluating algorithms and assessing strengths and weaknesses. A necessary prerequisite for this effort is a clear separation between the algorithm and the experimenter, who, in too many cases, is "in the loop" as a crucial intelligent learning component. Both issues are related to designing and engineering ways of "learning" about the performance of different techniques, and ways of using past experience about the algorithm behavior to improve performance in the future. Intelligent learning schemes for mining the knowledge obtained from different runs or during a single run can improve the algorithm development and design process and simplify the applications of high-performance optimization methods. Combinations of algorithms can further improve the robustness and performance of the individual components provided that sufficient knowledge of the relationship between problem instance characteristics and algorithm performance is obtained.

This meeting, which continues the successful series of LION events (see LION 5 at Rome, and LION 6 at Paris, and LION 7 at Catania), is aimed at exploring the intersections and uncharted territories between machine learning, artificial intelligence, mathematical programming and algorithms for hard optimization problems. The main purpose of the event is to bring together experts from these areas to discuss new ideas and methods, challenges and opportunities in various application areas, general trends and specific developments. We are excited to be bringing the LION conference in Greece for the first time.

IJCAI/ECAI is the Federated AI Conference on Artificial Intelligence, the main international gathering of researchers in AI.

IJCAI were held biennially in odd-numbered years since 1969. ECAI were held since 1974. Starting since 2016, IJCAI/ECAI is held annually. IJCAI/ECAI is sponsored jointly by IJCAI, EurAI and the national AI society of the host nation. The 26th International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence will be held in Melbourne, Australia in August 2017.

EurAI, the European Association for Artificial Intelligence (formerly ECCAI) was established in July 1982 as a representative body for the European Artificial Intelligence community.

The 27th Federated AI Conference on Artificial Intelligence, IJCAI/ECAI 2018 will be held in Stockholm, Sweden in July 13-19, 2018.

2018 the 2nd International Conference on Bioinformatics and Computational Intelligence (ICBCI 2018) will be held in Hong Kong on July 28-30, 2018. ICBCI 2018 will offer an extensive program of interest to academia, government and industry. Welcome to the official website of the 2018 the 3rd IEEE International Conference on Computational Intelligence and Applications  (ICCIA 2018), which will be held in Hong Kong, during July 28-30, 2018.

Computational Intelligence (CI), as an offshoot of the subject of Artificial Intelligence (AI), is a research field of studying various tools such as fuzzy logic, neuro networks, genetic algorithms, etc. Growing technical achievements to gather and integrate multi-“style” data from sensors, mobile devices, social media, log files, cameras, microphones etc. provide useful information about the state and the environment of the data sources, but also result in large and complex data sets, known as Big Data, which requires more efficient and powerful data analysis methods and applications.

Recently, the great breakthroughs, Convolutional Nets in Deep Learning, in the field of Computational Intelligence have tremendously attracted the sights of researchers and aroused their enthusiasms in exploring broader applications of the CI solutions to “Big Data” problems. Deep Learning, as a core domain of CI, provides more efficient algorithms to deal with large-scale data in neuroscience, computer vision, speech recognition, language processing, biomedical informatics, recommender systems, learning theory, robotics, gaming theory. DL is gaining applications in many domains due to the availability of large amount of data coupled with machine learning algorithms.  As an increasing trend, it is necessary to establish a research forum that will enable to identify the emerging trends in the domain. As a huge part of “Big Data” comes from social networks, understanding and representations of texts in Natural Languages (NL) play an extremely important role and it is indispensable to bring Computational Semantics elements into CI to provide a true machine understandable, interactive, and communicable environment. To meet these requirements, ICCIA 2017 will provide researchers and practitioners an effective forum to exchange their latest findings and achievements in the fields of Computational Intelligence.

2018 3rd Asia-Pacific Conference on Intelligent Robot Systems (ACIRS 2018) will be held during July 21-23, 2018 in Singapore.

ACIRS 2018 provides a forum for scientific advances in the theory and practice of Intelligent Robot Systems. It is a highly selective, single-track meeting that will be soliciting submissions presenting significant, original, and previously unpublished research. ACIRS 2018 aims to be one of the leading international conferences in the Asia Pacific region, and will provide an exciting environment for researchers to present and discuss the latest technologies, algorithms, system architectures, and applications.

All full paper submissions will also be peer reviewed and evaluated based on originality, technical and/or research content/depth, correctness, relevance to conference, contributions, and readability. The full paper submissions will be chosen based on technical merit, interest, applicability, and how well they fit a coherent and balanced technical program. Accepted papers of ACIRS 2018 will be published in Conference Proceedings and will be indexed by EI Compendex and Scopus

We are excited to announce 2018 3rd International Conference on Robotics and Machine Vision (ICRMV 2018) will be held on August 11-13, 2018 in Chengdu, China. The mission of ICRMV is to provide an interactive learning and relationship-building forum for all researchers in the Robotics and Machine Vision field. Colleagues from industry, academia, and government agencies will gather at the interface of research, partnerships, funding and commercialization to find ways to move forward. It is co-sponsored by Hefei University of Technology, China, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, China, and China University of Geosciences, China, and also technically assisted by many universities worldwide.

The first edition of ICRMV co-organized by the UASTRO society and International Association of Computer Science & Information Technology, and technically assisted by University Politehnica of Bucharest, Romania, Russian Academy of Sciences, Russia, etc. universities. It was successfully held in Moscow, Russia on September 14-16, 2016, and the proceedings of ICRMV 2016 published by SPIE. The papers included in SPIE Digital Library, and indexed by Ei Compendex, Scopus, and  CPCI (Web of Science). (Know more about ICRMV 2016). With the success of ICRMV 2016, the second edition (ICRMV 2017) gained support from Kitakyushu city , Kitakyushu Convention and Visitors Bureau and successfully held on September 15-18, 2017 in Kitakyushu, Japan. The proceedings of ICRMV 2017 also published by SPIE, which is under the process of publication until the date.
