Call For Participation: NLPCC 2019 & Tutorials(CCF ADL 107)
The conference on Natural Language Processing and Chinese Computing (NLPCC) is the annual meeting of the CCF TCCI (Technical Committee of Chinese Information, China Computer Federation). NLPCC is a leading international conference specialized in the fields of Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Chinese Computing (CC). It serves as a main forum for researchers and practitioners from academia, industry, and government to share their ideas, research results and experiences, and to promote their research and technical innovations in the fields. Previous NLPCC conferences were successfully held in Beijing (2012), Chongqing (2013), Shenzhen (2014), Nanchang (2015), Kunming (2016), Dalian (2017), and Hohhot (2018).
Today, NLP and CC technologies are among the most active research and development areas due to rapid advancement of the Internet as well as the worldwide proliferation of mobile devices and social media. The fields are facing many new challenges arising from intelligent applications and big data, such as business intelligence, social analytics, etc. The Eighth Conference of NLPCC will focus on Natural Language Analysis and Understanding in Big Data and Artificial Intelligence including Fundamental Research in Language Computing, Multilingual Access, Web Mining/Text Mining, Machine Learning for NLP, Knowledge Graph, Information Extraction, Question Answering, Information Retrieval, Chatbot, as well as the Applications of Language Computing.
China Computer Federation is pleased to announce that the Eighth CCF International conference on Natural Language Processing and Chinese Computing (NLPCC 2019) will take place in Dunhuang, Gansu Province, China, from Oct 9 to 14, 2019.
NLPCC 2019 will feature keynote speakers Dr. Keh-Yih Su (Research Fellow, Institute of Information Science, Academia Sinica), Prof. Mark Liberman (Professor, University of Pennsylvania), Prof. Dawei Song (Professor, Beijing Institute of Technology), and Prof. Fei Xia (Professor, University of Washington). NLPCC 2019 Tutorials/CCF ADL 107 will be delivered by Dr. Lei Li (Director of AI Lab, ByteDance) & Hao Zhou (researcher of AI Lab, ByteDance), Dr. Xiaodong He (Dupety Director of JD AI Research, IEEE Fellow), Prof. Bing Liu (Distinguished Professor, University of Illinois at Chicago, ACM/IEEE/AAAI Fellow), Dr. Shujie Liu (Lead Researcher, Microsoft Research Asia), Dr. Zhiyuan Liu (Associate Professor, Tsinghua University), and Dr. Min Zhang, (Tenured Associate Professor, Tsinghua University).
NLPCC 2019 Conference has arranged keynotes, tutorials/ADL, multi-track sessions of research paper reports, technical workshops, student workshop, shared task workshop, poster/demo, and industry expo.
NLPCC 2019 tutorials, held as CCF ADL 107 (Advanced Disciplines Lectures), will feature domestic and international specialists to provide six lectures/tutorials in three days on Theories and Applications of Natural Language Computing.
Technical Workshops, Student Workshop, Shared Task Workshop will be held with NLPCC 2019 conference.

The Best Paper Award (sponsored by Microsoft Research) and Best Student Paper Award (sponsored by AFNLP), as well as Best Chinese Paper and Distinguish Paper Awards (sponsored by Springer) of NLPCC 2019 will be selected independently by the Best Paper Award Committee.
NLPCC 2019 will provide a limited number of Travel Grants and Industrial Demo Grants to scholars and industrial participants:
All authors who have submitted to NLPCC 2019 are eligible to apply for the Travel Grants to attend NLPCC 2019. Priority will be given to applicants from west or middle regions of China as well as the students all over the world.
In addition, scholars or students who have published (or have papers accepted), as first author, in the leading international conferences or journals within the last 12 months, are eligible to apply to Grants for Free Registration of NLPCC 2019.
Eligible applicants are encouraged to submit their grant application forms (http://tcci.ccf.org.cn/conference/2019/info.php) after completing early-bird registration for NLPCC 2019.

1. CCF Member, indicates the members of China Computer Federation (CCF).
2. In order to be included in the proceedings, each accepted paper must have at least one independent Full Registration (CCF Member or Non-CCF Member Registration) and make the payment before September 10, 2019. One full registration can cover one paper only.
3. Students who do not intent to cover an accepted paper, can select "Student" as registrant type in the Registration website.
4. CCF member should provide your membership ID in the Registration website. No discount will apply without a valid membership ID.
5. All attendees are highly encouraged to complete the Online Registration and make payment before September 10, 2019, to enjoy the discount of Early-bird Registration.
6. Discounts (as listed in the above table) for the Joint Registrations of NLPCC 2019 and Tutorials (ADL 107) cannot be combined with other ADL discounts.
7. If you register for NLPCC 2019, you can also attend Workshop (October 12).
8. Eligible Travel Grant applicants should register and pay the fees by September 10, 2019, and submit the grant application forms to nlpcc@pku.edu.cn, which can be downloaded from the website: http://tcci.ccf.org.cn/conference/2019/info.php.
